What the standard changed and what it left alone
PAS 68 was the UK publicly available specification for the impact testing of vehicle security barriers. ISO 22343 is the international standard that succeeded it. It carries the same test method and the same performance classifications forward under a different reference, with some definitions tidied on the way.
That means a product tested and rated under PAS 68 has not stopped being rated. The test happened, the classification stands, and the product remains valid for specification wherever its performance class meets the requirement.
The practical problem is in the documents. Specifications, planning conditions and employer's requirements that still cite PAS 68 as the only acceptable reference exclude product that is compliant under the current standard, and they invite a round of clarification at exactly the point in a programme when time is scarce. Cite ISO 22343, and accept legacy-rated product explicitly.
